Amy Barber

Amy Barber is 21 years old from Bozeman, Montana. After having graduated from Bozeman High School with back to back state basketball championships her junior and senior years, Amy played basketball her freshman year of college at the University of Great Falls This fall, Amy will be attending Montana State University in Bozeman and working towards a Secondary Education major paired with German and History minors. She plans to one day teach high school and coach high school basketball. Amy came to an NBC camp at Rocky Mountain College when she was in high school and went on an NBC tour to the Scandinavian countries the summer of 2006. NBC has had an huge impact on her life; "I feel so fortunate to continue to be involved with NBC Camps and give back to the campers. It is a great pleasure and honor to be a part of NBC's amazing staff." One of Amy's favorite quotes is, "Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. Its an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a drive. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing."

Kelsey Schaufler

Kelsey Schaufler comes to RMC-NBC from Ennis, MT where she graduated in 2006. She will be starting her junior year this fall at Westminster College in Salt Lake City, UT studying business marketing. Kelsey plays middle blocker for the Griffins volleyball team, who made their first nationals appearance last fall and also competes on the golf team in the spring.

Kelsey started NBC as a camper in the 5^th grade attended camps and went on an international tour to the British Isles in 2004. This is her 3^rd year coaching at RMC and her first coaching at the Spangle site in WA. Kelsey shares her stunning personality with staff and campers alike. She pushes campers to ask tough questions of her and to work hard on both their personal and athletic developments during camp. Kelsey comes back to NBC each summer because, “I love being able to build bonds with the campers and watch them grow over the course of the week. I love learning from the other staff members, too. Every summer I can count on learning something new about myself and who I want to be.” Kelsey is unsure of where life will take her post graduation but knows that she wants to stay involved with NBC as long as she can.

Hanna Powell

Hanna Powell played 4 years of basketball for Harrison High, where she graduated in 2005. Her NBC resume consists of a week of Point Guard and Post camp and an NBC tour to the British Isles. This summer, Hanna will add to this list 4 weeks as an NBC coach at the Rocky Mountain College site. She currently lives in Big Sky, MT where she spends most of her time snowboarding, hiking, rock climbing and playing basketball. Hanna has a great attitude and personality on and off the court. She does an amazing job instructing campers and knows how to get them excited about basketball. Hanna's quote to live by is from Mother Teresa, "Be the change you wish to see in the world."

Jonathon Ferrie

Jonathon Ferrie is pursuing a Secondary Physical Education degree from Dordt College in Sioux Falls, South Dakota where he is originally from. At school, Jon also plays center for the Dordt Defenders Men’s Basketball team. Jon is excited to work NBC this summer because, “of the opportunity to work with the kids. When I was their age at camps I looked up to my coaches a lot and I still remember most of them and the things they taught me. I want the children to remember, understand, and put into action what I helped teach them. The best part about working with children is to see them put into action what they were just taught.”

Peter Stordahl

Peter Stordahl is an 18 year old from Minneapolis, Minnesota. He currently attends Billings West High School and will be going into his senior year this fall. Peter wast the 6th man for the Golden Bears last season when the Bears won their second straight AA Championship. Peter attended NBC Camps when he was younger as well as NBC's All Star camp in Oregon. Peter is unsure about his future after high school, however, when asked about college he said, "I believe that the skills both on and off the court that I have learned at NBC have given me the confidence to know that I can be successful in every aspect of life. I owe NBC camps more than I could ever repay them for the person I am today and the man I will be tomorrow."

Becca Sager

Becca Sager attends Shields Valley High School in Clyde Park Montana. She has been an NBC camper for two years; however, this is her first year as a staff member. When you don’t see Becca in the gym, you’ll find her helping out the Shields Valley community through her church’s Youth Group or at Jr. High and Elementary basketball practices. Becca also plays volleyball and runs track. Basketball is her first love, though. Through NBC tours, she will be touring and playing basketball in the Scandinavian countries this August. When asked why she works for NBC, Becca said, “I love basketball and I love God, NBC camps are the best way to learn and experience the knowledge of the two. As a camper I learned so much about myself, basketball, and God, it changed my outlook on life. I am so blessed and excited to be able to be a part of the same opportunity for the campers here.”

Stanton Duke

Stanton Duke has been around NBC camps for the last three years, yet this is his first summer as a coach. As a senior at Billings West High School, Stan loves to be around basketball and spends all his spare time with a ball in his hand. He often volunteers with the youth basketball program at the local YMCA and loves every minute of it. “Volunteering for the YMCA and coaching at NBC camps is one of the most fulfilling parts of my life. I remember the impact the coaches had on me when I was a camper and I just want to create that same impact.”

David Cok

David Cok, from Bozeman, MT, joins us at Rocky for his first NBC coaching summer. As a camper, David was selected for the elite NBC All Star team and in his senior year of high school, he made 1^st Team All-Conference after receiving an honorable mention earlier his sophomore year. David is a blessing to have on site and is always ready to chip in when needed. He is excited to work camp this year because, “NBC Camps provided me with many contacts throughout the Northwest United States and helped me grow in my walk with Christ. It was probably the first time that I had the opportunity to witness to someone else. I am looking forward to having the opportunity to bring children closer to God in anyway possible and have an awesome time playing and teaching basketball.”

McKenzie Foster

McKenzie Foster is a senior at Sweet Grass County High School in Big Timber, Montana. She has started on the varsity basketball team all three years of her high school career. She also participates in track and volleyball. McKenzie is hoping to pursue basketball in college and is planning to major in Journalism. McKenzie is a hard worker and, although this is her first summer coaching NBC, she brings much to the coaching staff. I her own words, “NBC camps brings inspiring words to kids of all ages. It is one of the few camps that will truly teach you not only basketball skills, but life skills that are essential to one’s success. I am so thankful to be apart of this staff because they have brought Jesus Christ into many camper’s lives along with a great work ethic, drive, and determination to be the best basketball player. The staff also consists of some of the most inspiring and positive people I have ever met. As both from a camper perspective and staff, I absolutely love this camp inside and out and am so honored to be involved with it.”

Jesse Logan

Jesse Logan is currently attending Cascade College in Portland, Oregon where he majors in Biological Science. Jesse will be a sophomore this upcoming 2008-2009 season and will play a vital role in Cascade College's NAIA men's basketball team. Jesse was a camper for several years and has also traveled to Brazil and Scandinavia through NBC's tour program. This is also Jesse's third year coaching. "I am so passionate about NBC Camps because they played a vital role in helping me become the person, christian, and basketball player that I am today. I hope every week I coach that I can have the same affect on a kid the way NBC Camps did when I was a camper." Jesse is from Shields Valley, Montana.

Rick Haluszka

Rick Haluszka from Harlem, Mt is returning to Billings for his 5th NBC summer. Co-Valedictorian of his high school class, Rick will attend MSU-Bozeman in the fall and will play football for the Cats. He plans on majoring in Kinesiology and minoring in coaching. Rick was a three sport letter winner all four years of high school, All-State football for 2 years & All-State basketball for 3 years. Rick brings an intense passion for sports to the court and says, “NBC Camps changed my life! My outlook on life and God were steered into a more positive direction the very first time I came to camp. I cannot think of a better way to incorporate essential life skills, a love for Jesus Christ, and basketball than how NBC Camps does. The friends I have made forever hold a special spot in my heart, and I am very grateful to have the opportunity to teach these young minds about Christ."

Daniel Pearson

Daniel Pearson started his employment with NBC two summers ago as a junior coach. He impressed the NBC-RMC staff with his passion for basketball and ability to teach campers despite being the same age as several PAC 10 guys. He came back last year as a full fledged coach and was a true asset to the NBC experience in Billings, MT. Daniel will graduate from Billings Central this May and is considering a college career in Helena, MT. He will join the Carroll Saints' roster this upcoming fall. Dan states, "NBC is a combination of two wonderful things in my life, basketball and faith. On the basketball side, NBC stresses discipline, fundamentals and outworking the person next to you at all times, all values that have helped get me where I am at today. Even more important than basketball is the faith aspect in which coaches attempt to lead youth to Christ through basketball. NBC stresses morals, community and doing what is right always, more values that have led to where I am today. NBC has made an everlasting impact on my life and I am forever grateful for the opportunities it has provided." Dan led his team to the Class A Divisional Championship with a career-high 31 points and sunk 14 of 15 free-throws. Dan has an amazing personality and is a person to learn much from.

Shannon Flynn

Shannon is currently a sophomore at Carroll College where she studies Biology and Chemistry for Secondary Education. With a basketball resume of 4 All-Conference and 2 All-State selections it comes as little surprise that Shannon plays on the Saint’s Basketball and Volleyball teams. This summer will be her fourth year with NBC and in that time Shannon states that “NBC Camps has had a huge impact on my life. It has shown me how passionate I am about working with kids, playing basketball, and sharing my faith. The campers always put a smile on my face. I love to watch them grow over the course of the week, and to see that reflected growth in myself.” Shannon is from Townsend, Montana.

Jessica Torrecillas

Jessica is a first time coach for NBC Camps this year. She went to Archbishop Mitty High School in San Jose, CA where she played on the varsity team for 3 years. While in high school, Jessica was on the all-league and all-regional teams her junior & senior year. She currently attends and plays basketball at Fresno Pacific University in California where she is planning on pursuing a degree in Psychology. Last year as a freshman she received the Rookie of the Year award for her team. Jessica says that she is “so excited to get involved with NBC Camps. Their attention to detail and passion for the game of basketball & their campers sets them apart from other camps. What I like best about NBC Camps is the emphasis on developing life skills through the game which is the most important & applicable part of sports. This will be an amazing opportunity to share my knowledge with the campers and also feed off the other coaches & learn from them!”

Eric Miedema

Eric Miedema is a junior guard for the Dordt Defenders from Orange City, Iowa. There, he is pursuing a Secondary Physical Education major. Eric was unanimously selected for 1^st Team All Conference his Junior and Senior years of high school and also helped lead his high school team to the Class 2A state championship his senior year. Eric is excited to work at NBC this summer because, "I love that we have the opportunity to set a good example for the kids because they need people they can look up to and help them in their walk with Christ."

Austin Alexander

Austin Alexander currently lives in Big Timber, MT where she attends Sweet Grass County High School. Austin is a three-sport athlete (basketball, cross country, track) and will be going into her senior year in the fall. Last year, she ran the camp store for a week and has been involved with NBC Camps for 5 years. Austin also went on an NBC tour in 2006. Austin's verse to live by: "Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance" (James 1:2).Austin brings a true love for the game of basketball, God, and teaching to NBC-RMC.

Kimberly Williams

Kimberly Williams hails from Broadus, Montana. She will graduate with high honors this May from Powder River County District High School and plans on attending Montana State University in Billings. There, Kim will complete pre-physical therapy prep courses in hopes of transferring into the University of Montana’s Physical Therapy program. Kim is a scrappy third year point guard for the Broadus Lady Hawks and was recently recognized in the state wide Wendy’s High School Heisman Awards Program as a top 10 finalist. Congrats, Kim! She contributes to her community in a number ways and looks forward to coaching a group of fifth and sixth graders in a local tournament this spring. Kim states, “I enjoy working with kids and seeing the improvements they make.” This will be Kim’s first summer with NBC and we are excited to have her energy and experience on staff.
